Spring term is one in which Year 5 children often make significant progress, with this term proving no exception. The Year 5 cohort have all applied themselves tremendously, tackling new challenges with gusto and enthusiasm. This has been most evident within our Maths lessons, where the mere mention of fractions prompted howls of anguish and terror! However, by breaking down this new topic and asking questions when we were unsure, we managed to make excellent progress. This was not only shown in our latest set of assessment results, but within the children’s confidence, actively seeking out trickier challenges to test themselves. What started out as a topic filled with dread, quickly became one of the highlights of our school day, with the children feeling immense pride and satisfaction in conquering the fractions beast!
