This week we have been marking Remembrance day and the Armistice throughout school.
Every member of the Brabyns family decorated a poppy for our school display and the children have been learning about the meaning behind this symbol.
Year 1 and 2 visited the fantastic wall of remembrance in Marple Memorial Park decorated by the 100 motorcyclists who took part in Marple’s ‘Ride of Remembrance’ in October, each carrying a poppy to represent Marple’s fallen heroes.
On Friday Year 6 attended a special 11am service and laid a wreath at the Cenotaph in Marple Memorial Park with Father Timothy Hupfield and members of the community, whilst in school our Brabyns family gathered to observe a respectful 11am silence.
