In their Science work Years 3 and 4 have been learning about plants and animals. We spent a beneficial morning at The Garden House to further develop the children’s knowledge and understanding. The children started off by dissecting a flower and learning the names for the different parts; stamen, stigma, anther. Then they chose two animals to look at more closely and had a go at sketching these in their booklet. After a break and a good look around, the children looked at the different plants and learnt about pollination. Lots of learning took place and the children really enjoyed themselves at the same time.
