Throughout their time at Brabyns, all children are actively encouraged to be engaged in their own learning, and to be intrinsically motivated to develop themselves in all areas.
By the time they reach Year 5 and 6, the children reflect on their work with great insight, being able to assess whether or not they have achieved a learning objective, and if not, where they need more help or practice.
As teachers, we are delighted that our children take so much ownership of their work, and set their own targets. Our aim is to reach a point where children can explain independently what they need to do in order to progress in their learning. Here you can see a few examples of some Year 5 daily Maths lesson reflections.
