At Brabyns, World Book Day is a day set aside every year to celebrate reading, books, authors and illustrators. Every child at Brabyns received a World Book Day Token, which could be exchanged for one of ten exclusive World Book Day Books.
There was an Usborne Book sale, where the children were able to view the books during school time and create a ‘wish list’ to share with their parents/carers at the end of the day.
School receives free Usbourne books based on the World Book Day sales. These books will be used in a future charity enterprise event, run by Year 6 to raise money for the NSPCC.
Each class had a different theme for the day, as shown below, and had a great time, as well as enhancing their love of books. An assembly at the end of the day provided an opportunity for the whole school to share what they had been doing.
