It’s that time our year again, when our Performing Arts department begins to sow the seeds of what, blossoms into a spectacular School Show. From acting to singing, dancing to performing in the New Mills Art Theatre - the children take part in an experience they will never forget.
We have some uncertainty over how, when and where we will perform our show this year, as problem solvers we are pleased to say that THE SHOW MUST GO ON, and there will be some form of performance that will go ahead. “Be prepared”, “We just can’t wait” for our very own version of Disney’s The Lion King.
In our current circumstances, we wanted to give the children, especially those in Year 6, a focus, a challenge, and something they truly deserve. It would have been the easy option to simply not spend money on the licensing, and perform something smaller, but we have taken the view that something special is just what everyone deserves and needs!
Our superb dance teacher, Ms Kendal, has already begun online movement classes, exploring the characteristics of animal motion and expression. The children have started learning the African parts to; which they have enthusiastically embraced.
It promises to be an extra special performance in whatever way we perform.
