Year 4 have had their hard working caps particularly during our English and Maths live lessons. It is a joy to see them maintain their Brabyns spirit, which has allowed them to adapt quickly to learning online, and they should be commended for their resilience and making the most of the learning opportunities given.
Whilst being present on screen is an important aspect of our new, current learning approach, it has been equally important to ensure they are finding time to take a break from their screens. To this end, the children in Year 4 have been set a variety of tasks to achieve this goal, which in turn has resulted in a healthier, more rounded approach to home learning. Activities have included: reading in ‘peculiar’ places to promote reading for pleasure, a ‘Snow Art’ challenge that saw the children use spray bottles filled with water and food colouring to create colourful art in the snow, ‘mummifying’ a tomato as a part of our Egyptian topic, investigating friction in Science and designing a marble run in D&T. The children have also set themselves goals to ensure they get their daily dose of fresh air and many have completed bikes, walks and PE activities.
A big well done to you, Year 4, for all their hard work, positivity and creativeness. Keep it up!
