To consolidate our knowledge on this terms topic, the Romans, Year 3 and Year 4 had a fantastic special Roman themed day. We began the day arriving at school dressed as Romans. We had a wide range of costumes based on what we had learnt previously in the term. We had Roman soldiers and even some Roman Gods and Goddesses.
Throughout the day, we participated in an engaging archaeology workshop. This included some very fun, exciting and thought provoking activities. We started with an introduction to the workshop with some team games and activities. This challenged us to work together to solve some problems. After break time, we had to investigate a skeleton! We analysed the skeleton and found out that it was a Roman.
The children also engaged with some Roman writing. This was very interesting and gave the children a great insight to Roman life, and they really enjoyed writing on the wax tablets and papyrus.
Overall, Year 3 and 4 had a really beneficial day and it was a great way to end our learning on the Romans.
