What a super end to the year our children are having this year. The usual end of year events are a chance for the children to demonstrate the confidence and skills that they have developed over the year.
The whole class have amazed us with their resilience and determination in the water since returning to school in March. For those confident swimmers it has been a chance to feel the freedom of the water again and learn again how to let the water keep them afloat. For the less confident swimmers, it has all been about putting their trust in their buoyancy aids and their new swimming teachers. We are so lucky to have the consistency of the same swimming teachers year on year. They know the children and the school well and quickly learn the names and characteristics of the children.
Last week was the Reception swimming gala, the first of many, and a chance for the children to show-off their new skills in a semi-competitive environment. How fabulous they all were, determined to give everything for their house teams but still with huge smiles on their faces. Great work Reception!
