Reception parents were invited into School to look at their child’s Learning Journey with their child. This took place in the school hall with coffee and biscuits. The children explained what was happening in each photo within their Learning Journey and told their parents about each piece of work. It was fantastic to see the progress the children had made within the Reception year so far. In addition, staff were available to answer any questions or queries raised.
Later on, the children invited their parents to carry out the weekly Rainbow Challenges within the classroom. This was extremely entertaining and enjoyable for the children to watch their grown-ups completing their activities; especially the ‘Build a Brick Tower Challenge’ (where the children timed 30 seconds for their parent to make a tower out of bricks, for King Caspar of Toy Town. Next they had to draw their tower and count how many bricks they used). This seemed to be very competitive!
