Forest school activities are a wonderful way to care for our environment as well as nurturing the wellbeing of our children. It teaches children to value and respect their surrounding and provides opportunities to learn things that are not always offered within the confines of a classroom.
After nurturing potato seeds to ensure they are ready to plant, Year 3 and 4 planted their very own potatoes in this week’s Forest School as part of the ‘Grow Your Own Potatoes’ competition.
In the lovely sunshine, some of our children carefully planted the potato seeds in a 36 litre grow bag along with some compost. The children are continuing to ensure that their potatoes will be gaining the correct nutrients to help them grow the in the best way. Hopefully, we will have enough to make a potato salad!
