Since Autumn we have been developing our Nursery playground with the aim of enhancing the outdoor space into an even more stimulating environment, enhancing the children’s learning and development.
As parents you haven't been able to see it here are a few updates for you (and there is more planned to follow):
The playground now benefits from an enhanced mud kitchen, providing the children with a variety of different learning opportunities, including sensory, imaginative, creative and exploratory play.
The log stepping stones help to develop the children’s skills in balancing, socialising, risk taking and even counting.
The new water area consists of cascading water trays, a gutter water feature, a water wall hub with expandable water tubes and an assortment of funnels, all of which help with the development of coordination, motor skills, problem solving, language, social and emotional growth and building the foundation for understanding maths and various scientific concepts.
The writer’s tyre toppers allow the children to relish in the sensory and physical experience of mark making, which in turn impacts on their creativity, language, handwriting and coordination.
The new construction play site consists of real life bricks, a role play cement mixer, tool station and environmental print (construction signage). These enhancements support the children in developing their fine and gross motor skills, communication, team work, imagination and understanding of maths.
As the Nursery team, we would like to say a special thank you to Mr & Mrs Garner, Mrs Mitchell, Mr Scrivens and Mr Logan for their help and support.
