In Nursery, we have adopted a new learning approach which aims to broaden the children’s experiences and increases their curiosity regarding a range of subject areas.
As you may have noticed, we now have a section of the classroom dedicated to what is known as ‘The Curiosity Cube’. Since its introduction, we have placed numerous items inside, including a mermaid purse, seaweed, sand and crab remains, a fairy garden and even a nest with a hatched egg shell.
The approach has helped to improve the children’s Communication and Language and investigative skills, in addition to creating awe and wonder. It has been fascinating to see the children’s responses to the objects placed inside the cube.
If you wish to donate/lend any intriguing items that you think would be beneficial in enhancing the children’s knowledge and understanding, please let us know.
