Year 6 have been involved in a number of nurturing activities during Summer Term.
Firstly, the class have been involved in a number of activities centred around Life Skills in and around school: the kitchen, office, in finance, maintenance, Little Stars and various classes too. These opportunities are to widen their horizons and find out what goes on in the world of work.
They are also involved in a scheme run by Virgin to ‘Make a £5 Grow’. This is to help develop their entrepreneurial skills. We may have some millionaires in the making!
The children also took part in First Aid Training. This training was run by Millie’s Trust and the children learnt CPR; how to deal with choking; how to use a defibrillator and they also found out information about how the human body works.
The children also took part in a Charity Sale where the Year 6 children raised £43.05 for Macmillan Cancer Care. Year 6 ran a charity Tombola with every ticket a winner. The top prizes were brand new Usborne Books which the school earned through a World Book Day sale back in March.
