Earlier this week, our Kindergarten class, family members and some other family and friends joined us for a fantastic ‘Story Adventures’ afternoon based on ‘The Gruffalo’ book by Julia Donaldson.
The main aim of the event was to share with parents how we bring learning to life, and how this successfully prepares the Nursery children for their transition up to the main School.
Children and adults alike spent the afternoon engaged in exciting activities, including acting out the Gruffalo story, making Gruffalo crumble and owl ice cream, transforming into mice, creating snakes and hunting for fox poo, prior to watching the movie with our homemade treats at the end of the session.
The Story Adventures event had a lovely family atmosphere to it, and is one of many different opportunities the children benefit from in our Early Years environment. The children’s strengths, independence and improved confidence were celebrated, and lots of fun was had by all!
