Reception have been busy learning about how to stay healthy in body and mind this half term and one of their tasks has been to consider all the things we do to keep ourselves clean. We played a game of charades in our virtual Circle Time session and had to guess the different actions being performed before making posters to show any prospective visiting aliens what they have to do to keep themselves clean on Earth.
We also learnt about the routines that astronauts in the International Space Station have for going to sleep at night. Did you know that they don’t have pillows and that their sleeping bags are strapped to the wall? We then made posters to show our own bedtime routines, so important for our healthy bodies and minds. As well as demonstrating all they have learnt, the posters have enabled the children to practise their all important drawing skills and to apply their phonics to creating labels. In addition, many of the children have also used the opportunity to practise their speaking skills by creating short videos explaining their posters.
What superstars they are.
