In their PSHCEE lessons, the children in Year 3 have been learning about resilience.
Resilience is bouncing back from difficulties or challenges in life or, trying to achieve something even if you keep failing. Life presents everyone with challenges and setbacks all the time, but we can be resilient in the way we think about or approach these.
In Year 3, we have called it ‘bouncebackability’ and the children have been identifying ways in which they can change their thinking and behaviour in future situations to enable them to be more resilient to setbacks. The children have looked at different situations and discussed how they could manage when faced with these different situations and talked about helpful and unhelpful thinking. The children designed posters encouraging people to be resilient.
