Early Years have introduced ‘Rainbow Challenges’ to help develop and enrich the children's learning.
Challenges are set for each of the year groups, which are derived from the Assessment programme, Pupil Asset.
The children enjoy achieving up to five challenges per week. Once achieved, they have a sense of satisfaction and receive a special Golden ticket allowing them to choose their own reward, giving them a sense of ownership.
The challenges are spread out in the indoor and outdoor areas, linked to the different areas of learning. Examples include, children initiating their own word hunt in the environment, experimenting with how electric circuits work and explaining why, and much more.
The Rainbow Challenges encourage children to explore the others areas of the classroom and helps to develop their ‘Characteristics of Effective Learning’ skills further.
