To round off their ‘Around the World’ topic, Year 3 and 4 enjoyed an engaging themed day. The children loved playing traditional games from all around the world as a fun start to the day. They then enjoyed learning about the technique of pointillism and looking at how it has been used by various artists.
They used the technique to create pictures of European landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower. They also listened to the story of the Mendhi bush and had a go at creating colourful Mendhi inspired designs.
The children also had a special visitor who led us in a ‘Global Grooves’ drumming workshop which incorporated drumming from all around the world and trying out lots of instruments we had never experienced before.
The children were amazing and fully engaged throughout. They wowed us with their drumming skills, positive attitude and willingness to have a go at new things.
