Educational visits are powerful, positive teaching tools that engage the children with their learning through hands-on experiences. We were delighted that the visit was able to go ahead, that all the measures were in place to make it a really safe trip. A huge well done to Chester Zoo, it was fantastic to be able to engage in in a school trip, something that we took for granted in the past.
Our theme through Year 1 and 2 this half term is ‘On Safari’. This links in well with our Science unit on Living Things and being able to classify animals as well as our work in Geography with a focus on Kenya.
We had a superb day, full of learning opportunities that could be brought back to school to engage the children in their classroom learning.
