Learning how to write a comic strip has been a really exciting process for the children of Year 4. Characterisation of good versus evil generated a multitude of conversations and adventurous ideas.
It was challenging to create such short stories that held the reader’s attention and to use vocabulary that was in the correct comic book style. Using captions, speech bubbles and fantastic illustrations, the children created super, fantastic, marvellous, comic strips. The end result was the children creating and writing newspaper reports, that led to visualising a story using images and speech bubbles.
The children took inspiration from the author Dav Pilkey who wrote ‘Captain Underpants’.
