During an adult-focused activity the Kindergarten children used a long mirror to look at their reflection. They were asked to name the features of their body prior to drawing pictures of themselves. Afterwards they were asked to give meanings to the marks that they had made.
Drawing self-portraits reveal many things. They show the development of a child’s fine motor, observation and focusing skills, how they perceive themselves, as well as their bodily awareness.
