Please click on the links below to see the weekly menu. The menu is on a 4 week cycle, with occasional tweaks. Our 'Winter' menu runs from the start of the Autumn 2 half-term to Easter. With our summer menu running from Easter until the end of the Autumn 1 half-term. we also have regular taster days and theme days.
On the menus we have indicated in colour the main food type the item of food is, either protein, fruit, vegetable, carbohydrate or a watch item.
Our Catering Team is led by Mrs Bailey. She has been at Brabyns for over 10 years and has worked in schools kitchens for the majority of her working career. She knows all our children and their catering preferences. Having seen lots of children come through from Nursery she has a talent of 'persuading' them to try new foods and is aware of what they have eaten in the past!
Mrs Bailey is often the first person at school in the morning, preparing for the day, running a catering club for the children before school, as well as providing toast for the children at break time.
Mrs Bailey is joined by her able assistants, Mrs Harris and Miss Clegg. Who again have good knowledge of the children and enjoy serving and preparing their meals.
During lunchtime we have staff on duty who encourage the children to eat their meals and also to help them choose appropriate food groups. The same member of staff is usually working all week, meaning they can help ensure they have a balance over the week.
The kitchen has a 5-star (maximum available) for Food Hygiene, awarded by an annual unannounced Environmental Health visit. Click here for more details.
