Brabyns Preparatory School
Destination Schools of Year 6 Leavers 2022

The choice of senior school is hugely important and one which we take seriously. Whether it is a state or independent school, Brabyns works in close partnership with parents to support them in selecting the school that is the ‘right fit’ for their child. Our close working relationships with many of these schools helps inform our discussions with parents.

We are proud of the solid foundation we give our pupils and our whole school curriculum allows for a natural and gradual progression to secondary school standards. We ensure our pupils are thoroughly prepared and supported for their entrance examinations.

Over the past two years, we have seen disruptions to school life as COVID-19 restrictions dictated that learning and teaching had to move to online platforms, and our pupils had to prepare for their secondary examination in the virtual world. This challenge did not disturb this preparation; as recent results have proven.

We wish to congratulate our Year 6 pupils on their fantastic examination results this year. It is evident that their hard work, determination and resilience has triumphed, with 22 offers being made to the desired secondary schools.

Eighty percent of Brabyns pupils sat external independent secondary school examinations, resulting in offers flooding in for places in September at: Manchester High School for Girls, Stockport Grammar School, The King's School Macclesfield, Alderley Edge School for Girls, Hulme Hall Grammar School, Cheadle Hulme School and Harrogate Ladies College. Impressively, these were accompanied with offers of music and academic scholarships; three of these being awarded for academic abilities and the other two for musical prowess.

https://www.brabynsprepschool....Stockport Grammar School remains a firm favourite for senior school choice in 2022. This year has seen final choices for secondary school education include Manchester High School for Girls, Hulme Hall Grammar School, Marple Hall School.

This year’s results make us so proud of our Year 6 pupils. We not only celebrate their academic successes but their achievements and growth as individuals; I know any school is privileged to gain a Brabyns pupil and I am confident that our Year 6 leavers will thrive in their chosen destination schools, in both the state and independent sectors.

Personally, I would like to thank and praise all the children, parents and staff for their contributions to this process as, once again, it shows what an excellent, all-round school we are; I could not be prouder!
